Just to remind you.

The mainstream press are now in full swing reporting Israel�s attacks on Gaza- in isolation from the true beginnings of this new round of attacks. Let us recall that some did report its beginnings, even if they forgot it soon afterwards. Some noted that even BEFORE the truce had expired, the rockets were coming from Gaza:

Two rockets launched from the Gaza Strip hit open space in Israel a week before a truce is set to expire. (source)

But the Israelis took this pre-end of truce quietly � until this:

Three Qassam rockets fired from Gaza on Tuesday struck the Israeli border town of Sderot and its environs, causing no serious injuries but constituting the first serious breach of a five-day-old truce between Israel and Hamas, the Islamic group that controls Gaza. (source)

And this:

And at the end of the truce there were a ��barrage of 19 rockets and three mortars by nightfall� from Gaza into Israel. (source)

And of course don�t forget previous years: In 2006 for example, just as citizens were peacefully going about their lives :

At least 90 rockets were fired at Israel and landed throughout the North on Saturday morning and afternoon. 15 rockets landed in and around Nahariya alone, and three buildings sustained damage in various rocket attacks. (source)

So the question to Palestinian supporters is this: who started this new round of rocket attacks? And, is Israel supposed to sit and just wait for the rockets to fall and do nothing?

There is some evidence that Fatah is involved in these latest attacks. If not for WND and Jihadwatch, and some intrepid journos, we would not know about this.

A Hamas investigation replete with video confessions has discovered that militants from Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah organization received instructions to disrupt a cease-fire that Israel agreed to last week with the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip. (source)

This is apparently all bound up with Fatah trying to push Hamas into firing rockets, so they can be blamed and hence lose kudos and power in the eyes of the world. Then Fatah presumably would be waiting in the wings to take over. Meanwhile I heard on a TV ABC news report that was not repeated that some rockets in Gaza exploded there before takeoff so some of the damage has come directly from their own rockets. And in the end the sad legacy of dead and wounded all comes from the Palestinian side � which of course, the Palestinian protestors in Sydney are loath to announce. But the fact is � the Palestinians have only themselves to blame for the carnage of the past few days.

But one thing is crystal clear � as clear as 2 2=4. If rockets had not been fired, from Gaza there would have been no retaliation. The truce had worked because the Palestinians for the most part kept it. Israel did too. If no further rockets are fired from Gaza, there will be no further retaliation from Israel. A child in third grade can understand this, why can�t the Palestinians?

Israel's airstrikes against confirmed Hamas terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip were overdue, discriminating and skillful. So far, this retaliatory campaign has been a superb example of how to employ postmodern airpower.

Instead of bombing empty buildings in the dead of night in the hope of convincing bloodthirsty monsters to become peace-loving floral arrangers - the US Air Force version of "Shock and Awe" - the Israeli Defense Force aimed to kill terrorists.

Israel's attack aircraft appear to have accomplished that part of the mission. As I write, some 300 terrorist dead have been reported in Gaza, while the propaganda-savvy information office of Hamas has strug- gled to prove that 20 civilians died.

Given the fact that Hamas adheres to the terrorist practice of locating command sites, arsenals and training facilities in heavily populated areas, the results suggest that the IDF - supported by first-rate intelligence work - may have executed the most accurate wave of airstrikes in history, with a 15-to-1 terrorist-to-civilian kill ratio.
