Pemain : Shohreh Aghdashloo, Mozhan Marnò, Jim Caviezel, Parviz Sayyad, Ali Pourtash, Navid Negahban, Mohammad Yazdani

Freidoune Sahebjam (Jim Caviezel) yang sedang dalam perjalanan melewati sebuah desa kecil di Iran ketika mobilnya mogok. Karena tak punya pilihan lain, jurnalis Perancis ini lantas memutuskan menunggu di sana sementara mobilnya diperbaiki. Tak berapa lama kemudian muncul seorang wanita yang menceritakan sesuatu yang sama sekali di luar perkiraan Freidoune.

Wanita bernama Zahra (Shohreh Aghdashloo) itu meminta Freidoune untuk mengikutinya ke belakang rumahnya. Meski awalnya tak mau namun Freidoune akhirnya menuruti kemauan wanita yang mulai memaksanya ini. Sesampainya di belakang rumah, Zahra menceritakan apa yang terjadi di desa itu sehari sebelumnya.

Seorang wanita bernama Soraya (Mozhan Marnò) meninggal dianiaya seluruh penduduk desa. Awalnya Soraya hanya menolak diceraikan oleh Ali (Navid Negahban), suaminya, yang bermaksud menikah lagi dengan seorang gadis berusia 14 tahun. Karena Soraya tak mau diceraikan, Ali kemudian mengatur siasat dan membuat seolah Soraya berbuat zinah. Karena di Iran masih berlaku hukum rajam, maka tak elak Soraya pun mengalami nasib yang malang dihujani batu hingga meninggal.

Karena di Iran masih berlaku hukum rajam, maka tak elak Soraya pun mengalami nasib yang malang dihujani batu hingga meninggal.

Sebenarnya inti masalahnya adalah fitnah si suami kepada istri, bukan pada hukum rajamnya. Yang mana yang jadi persoalan disini ?
